Future Kiwanis Dinner Meetings:

Greetings My Fellow Kiwanians,

Your Board recently voted to amend our Club meeting schedule.

Beginning October 1, 2024, the new Kiwanis year, we will change from a biweekly meeting per month to a single meeting per month. The meeting will alternate each month from the Oscar Barn for our membership meeting featuring a guest speaker and the next month the meeting will be at the Hooksett Memorial School, which will feature our Service Leadership Programs (SLP’s).  In addition, the club from time-to-time may hold a social event which would take the place of the second meeting a month you were accustomed to.  Please note the meetings at Oscar Barn for general membership will be moved from Wednesday Meetings to Tuesdays, with the first one of the year being our Installation of Officers Meeting on 10-22-24. The meetings at Memorial School featuring our SLP’s will continue to be held on Wednesdays as requested by our SLP Clubs. Their first meeting for the year, will be November 13, 2024. 

Why are these changes being made:

• The Board believes these changes will foster and encourage greater membership participation and attendance. 
• We have found over the past several years meeting attendance is subject to seasonal ebb and flow. Our meeting attendance this year averaged 23 members. In some instances, we had to cancel the meeting due to lack of member attendance. Our most recent meeting in September had only 10 members attend. 
• We know that we are competing with other activities within the community including governmental meetings, school meetings and various youth activities that occur on Wednesdays. These commitments are in addition to work and family responsibilities. 
• By reducing meeting requirements, our intent is to free your schedule so that you can make Kiwanis meetings a monthly event on your calendars. (See schedule below for Oct-Dec Meetings).  The balance of the Kiwanis year should be available after our October Board Meeting on 10-21-24, when the new Board will finalize the dates. 

Change is never easy to accept, but to do nothing is not an acceptable response. There is an adage that states “if you always do what you always did, you’ll always get what you got.”

 We ask for your support in making Hooksett Kiwanis a strong Club in support of Our mission to improving the world, one child and one community at a time.

• October 22, 2024 – New Officer and Board Installation Meeting – Oscar Barn 6:30 PM
• November 13, 2024 – Kiwanis/SLP Meeting – Putting together Jared Boxes – Hooksett Memorial School 6:00 PM
• December 11, 2024 – Kiwanis Annual Christmas Auction and Dinner – Oscar Barn 5:30 PM
