Committees

In order to carry out all the projects that Kiwanis is involved with throughout the year, each member is asked to join one or more committees.

FINANCIAL COMMITTEE	Willey, Sue
Audit	Mack, Oliver Lavery, Tom	Reviews financial activities and statements of all accounts maintained by the Club Treasurer twice per fiscal year. Written documentation from this audit is provided to the outside CPA firm who files the Club’s taxes.
Budget	Willey, Sue	Develops the budgets for the Club and Foundation accounts. The Food Pantry and Scout Troop 292 develop their own budgets with their committees and the Hooksett Kiwanis board approves them. These budgets are developed in August each year for the new year starting in October. Then financials are reported against this new budget during the year.
Fundraising	Willey, Sue	Monitors fund raising for sponsored events for the pending year, sends out solicitation letters, follow up with potential sponsors, develops fund raising brochure and follows up as needed.

CLUB EVENTS	???
5K Race	Willey, Sue and Bob	Annual 5K Race from Trail head to Library
Golf Tournament	Young, Tom	Hosts a golf tournament at a local golf course in July of each year. This is a well-attended tournament with many prizes.
Pancake Breakfast	???	Committee makes arrangements for venue. The date of the event is the same day as Beautify Hooksett. Solicits purchases for events and promotes event.
Club & SLP Dinner Meetings	???	Sends out invites to members, coordinates with venues for dates, arranges for food for meetings. Works with board member who solicits speakers for dinners.

COMMUNITY SERVICE	Kunkel, Sue
Community Service Projects	Laroche, Claudette	Oversees all committees related to community service. Evaluates projects referred to committee by board. Makes recommendations for new projects.
Literacy	Gagne, Will	Coordinates with daycares to build a reading corner at their daycare. Determine which events we will give away books. Order all books.
Winter Carnival	Willey, Sue	Plans and hosts winter carnival along with other organizations in the Town of Hooksett
Beautify Hooksett Day	Willey, Bob	Coordinates volunteers both individuals and groups to create teams and match locations to clean-up. Coordinates food for after the clean-up is over.
National Night Out	Willey, Bob	Coordinates with Police Department to order paper goods based on the amount of food donations they receive. Solicits volunteers to work in the concession stand to cook and serve food.
Salvation Army Bell Ringing	Pelletier, Donna	Bellringing at Wal-Mart during Holiday Season to raise money for the Hooksett Branch of the Salvation Army
Young Children’s Program	Collins-Murtagh, Rebecca	Plans club activities geared toward improving the lives of children, birth to age 5
Kid’s Kloset	Howe, Michele, Howe, Tim	Hooksett Kiwanis Kid’s Kloset is a program to provide children with gently worn clothing. An open house is held on the first Monday of each month at the Town Hall building. Families may select clothing they need from 5:30PM – 7:00PM.
Food Pantry	Brennan, Barb	Operates Community Food Pantry at Hooksett Town Offices
KARES Program	Willey, Bob	Coordinates with Hooksett Memorial School principal and third grade teachers to provide a book giveaway and reading to classrooms for the third grade.

Historical	Bishop, Fred	Maintains club history from when it was chartered in 2000 up to the current year. This includes how our SLP clubs were formed, and the various activities, service projects and fund-raisers we have held over the years. Additionally, to documenting our ongoing projects.

K Kids Hooksett Memorial	Staples, Meg	Service Leadership for K Kids at Hooksett memorial School. Club members learn leadership skills as they perform community service projects in their school and community.
