Hooksett/Service Leadership Programs (SLP) Dinner Meeting 3-20-24
On Wednesday 3-20-24 Hooksett Kiwanis and our (6) Service Leadership Programs (SLP’s) members had the pleasure of hearing from Mike Gibeault, the Director of Philanthropy at NH Make-A- Wish. Mike discussed Make-A-Wish was started in the 1980 in Arizona and here in NH was started in 1986. This year they are looking forward to granting their 2,000th wish.
During the meeting, Ally, a past Wish recipient and current Wish Ambassador, talked about how meaningful her Wish was, which happened over 10 years ago. During the meeting, it was determined that many of the six SLP’s which Kiwanis sponsors already participate with Make-A-Wish and others asked how they could help. Make-A-Wish and Kiwanis have similar mission statements, with a focus on children and youth.
