Hooksett Kiwanis Children’s Safety Day – Saturday 5-18-24
The Safety Event held at Cawley Middle School on May 18th, organized by the YCPO committee, was a resounding success as it marked their 3rd annual safety day. The event saw an impressive turnout, with the Hooksett police department taking center stage by inspecting nearly 12 car seats for local children. Families were not only provided with crucial information on car seat safety but also lauded the inspection for its helpfulness and knowledge.
Moreover, the bike rodeo added to the day’s triumph by generously giving away almost 50 bicycle and skate helmets to excited children in attendance. To ensure further safety measures, some of the bikes were registered by the diligent police department. A special shoutout goes to Extra Care Auto Repair for volunteering their services, checking the bikes for safety, and guaranteeing their reliability.
The community spirit was palpable throughout the event, with Above & Beyond delighting attendees with free doughnuts and popcorn. The Hooksett Kiwanis Community Service Committee also made a notable contribution by distributing complimentary books to all those present.
Despite the bustling atmosphere, the fire department managed to make a memorable impact by organizing ambulance tours for interested participants. The day was truly a collective effort, highlighting the community’s dedication to safety and well-being. As the event concluded, organizers and participants alike eagerly expressed their anticipation for next year’s event, already envisioning an even more impactful gathering.
