Hooksett Kiwanis Scholarship

The Hooksett Kiwanis Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce this year’s recipients of the Dr. James D Walter Memorial Scholarship Award.

• Emma Nelson – $1,500. Emma will be attending Keene State College, Keene NH in the fall to study nursing.
• Crosby Nolan – $1,500. Crosby will be attending the University of New Hampshire, Durham, NH in the fall as an aspiring ocean engineer.

Also, Hooksett Kiwanis allocated an additional $500 to fund a third scholarship this year in fond memory, and to honor Jennifer Chames, a longtime, dedicated, Hooksett Kiwanis member who passed away recently. Alexa DeFreitas was chosen as the worthy recipient of this $500 award. Alexa will be attending the School of Communication at High Point University, High Point NC in the fall.

Presentations of the scholarships are planned for Crosby and his guests on June 5, and Emma and Alexa and their guests on June 19, at the membership dinners at the Oscar Barn in Hooksett, NH. We hope there will be a strong membership turnout at these events to join the celebration of these outstanding young students.
