January flew by, and here we are already well into the new year! With the days growing longer, I always feel a renewed sense of energy, and I hope you do too!
January was filled with Kiwanis goodness and incredible moments. We kicked off the year with a special SLP-focused meeting, where we worked alongside the students to decorate and fill Valentine’s bags for the residents of Hackett Hill Senior Facility. We also heard inspiring updates from all of our sponsored service programs, including the student-led SLPs, the Hooksett Kids Kloset, the Hooksett Food Pantry, and Boy Scouts Troop 292. It’s truly amazing to see the positive impact each of these programs has in our community, and I couldn’t be prouder to be a Kiwanian. You should be too!
We also celebrated the 110th Anniversary of Kiwanis with an Inter-club meeting with the Manchester Kiwanis on January 21. What a milestone! And of course, we had a fantastic turnout at the Hooksett Winter Carnival. Thank you to everyone involved in planning and executing this wonderful community event, and a special thanks to Linda Bonney for once again stepping in as Chair of the Winter Carnival Committee. Your efforts made it a memorable experience for all.
As we move forward into February, I want to remind everyone about the importance of new member recruitment to ensure the longevity of our club. I’m excited to share that Judy Barrett successfully recruited a new member just by striking up a conversation with someone at the Hooksett Winter Carnival. It’s that simple— just share what we do! Judy, you’re a fantastic example of how easy and rewarding recruitment can be. Let’s all take responsibility for this and keep the momentum going. I challenge each of you to invite someone to our next business meeting. Don’t forget, our Club covers the meal cost for any potential new members’ first meeting, so bring a friend!
Our February business meeting will be held at the Oscar Barn on Tuesday, February 11. I look forward to seeing you all there!
