Congratulations 🎉🎊 to the Fellowship Church – Granite State, for winning Hooksett’s 2024 Community Impact Award.
Arriving in Hooksett during the COVID pandemic presented unique challenges, but the nascent church congregation not only embraced the challenges, but also quickly made their presence known by their eagerness to help with the Town’s Bi-Centennial Celebration.
One of the first tasks for Aaron Cockrum, the church’s Lead Pastor and a former union ironworker foreman, who identifies himself as an “undeserving yet completely grateful and forgiven sinner,” was to visit Town officials, Police and Fire Department personnel, and others, to discover ways that he and his soon-to-be congregation, called Fellowship Church-Granite State, could “serve their community.” The overwhelming response to their generous volunteerism was thankfulness, because, as Cockrum described it, “the town officials said they never had a church ask how they could help the community.” Fellowship’s desire, he added, is to “change this view of the church from simply a building to a vital piece of the community.”
