President’s Message
Early Spring greetings to All! As we say good-bye to old man Winter, we must recognize the prominent place that the Winter Carnival plays in making Winter a fun time for all. Special gratitude to Linda Bonney and her team for making this event a fun time for all. As we entered the New Year, our Club found new locations for its bi-monthly meetings. The Oscar Barn provided us with a new venue with ample seating, quiet surroundings and a welcoming Oscar team dedicated to facilitating our meeting.
Our second monthly meeting held at Hooksett Memorial was the kick-off to a new concept meeting dedicated to our SLP clubs from Hooksett Memorial, Cawley, Hillside, Trinity, Pinkerton and Central. Both meetings offer a fresh opportunity to share in the Kiwanis traditions of caring, inspiring, working and laughing together as we seek to improve the world one child and one community at a time.
Spring is also the harbinger of several of our events including the Beautify Hooksett Day preceded by the Annual Pancake Breakfast on April 20th . This is also the time when we recognize those individuals and businesses that help to make Hooksett a wonderful place to live with our Community Leaders Event on May 15 th . Please keep these dates on your calendar! With so many competing tasks and events in your day and workweek, it is easy to put Kiwanis aside.
Please consider the many ways you can provide support to the Club. You can simply attend meetings, purchase a Kiwanis Calendar or become involved with a Club activity such as volunteering to help out with the Community Leaders Event, Pancake Breakfast, 5K Trail Race, or National Night Out to name but a few. If you would enjoy collaborating with other members to achieve our Club’s mission, then we encourage you to become a board member.
If you have other ideas and suggestions for our Club to give back to the community, please let us know. Thank you for being a Kiwanian. And remember, Kids Need Kiwanis and Kiwanis needs You! If you haven’t been to a meeting lately, please join us on the 1 st and 3 rd Wednesday of the month at one of our new meeting places. See you soon! And Remember, Kiwanians Pay It Forward!
